Guided tour: 10.00 am to 12.30 am, 8.00 EUR/person, max. 25 participants

St Mary’s Church lies on the highest point of the inner city isle. The Gothic style that was fashionable in France in 1300 was used for the first time in Northern Germany here. This church counts as the mother church of brick gothic architecture and was the model for the entire region of the Baltic Sea.

We are going to start with an organ recital, held especially for us. Afterwards, you are in for an adventure.
This tour is not for the faint of heart. We will climb narrow spiral staircases and duck under low passageways inside the towers. The ascent is 400 stairs right up under the roof that is the highest in the world with 38.5 metres. You can only admire the technical capabilities of the builders and enjoy the fantastic view over the inner city isle.

Maximum 25 persons. General fitness required as well as sturdy shoes and no fear of heights. Only limited camera equipment possible.
The organ recital can also be booked separately.
